150th Anniversary of the Historic Courthouse

Celebrate two significant anniversaries within the Washington County Parks system!

Join us in celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the groundbreaking of the Washington County Historic Courthouse and the 100th anniversary of the Soldiers and Sailors Civil War Monument 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 3. Bring a blanket and picnic on the grounds with hot dogs, apple pie, and live music! This will be a fun-filled event with living history re-enactors in Civil War era replica dress and interactive demonstrations with public participation, cannon fire, old-time photos, vendor booths, time capsule dedication, a Civil War exhibit grand opening, a community group photo and more.

Friday, June 2

Closed to official county and court business since 1975, official court proceedings will once again be held in the courtroom of the Historic Courthouse on Friday, June 2, with Washington County District Court Judge Greg Galler conducting a calendar with a variety of civil and criminal cases. County Attorney Pete Orput will be appearing on cases involving Washington County and Washington County Sheriff Dan Starry will personally take part in security. A number of local officials will be participating. The public is welcome to attend.
