Learn to be more efficient in the kitchen to save yourself time and money. Class includes knife skills, batch cooking, cook once-serve twice techniques and recipes that can be made ahead of time. There is a hands-on portion of the class for learning and practicing knife skills. 
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Identify which types of knives and cutting boards are best for meal preparation. 
Demonstrate how to correctly and safely hold a knife and the food being cut. 
Demonstrate mastery of three cutting techniques: slice, draw, and chop. 
Discuss the importance of providing nutritious food for children at child care. 
Discuss the role of a child care provider in presenting new foods and supporting healthy eating in children’s development.
