Natural Resources Planning
Development of a 2018 Natural Resource Protection and Management System Framework for Washington County
Washington County’s 2018 draft Comprehensive Plan calls for development of a comprehensive strategic natural resource management approach to assure community needs are effectively being met and the county is well positioned for future opportunities and challenges. A planning process co-led by Washington Conservation District and Washington County to develop a Natural Resource Protection and Management System Framework is underway that will be completed by December 2019. Documents and maps related to the effort will be placed here.
The process, structure, roles, and responsibilities for the effort were articulated and presented to the County Board and Washington Conservation District Board in April 2018. The process determined that the Washington County Parks and Open Space Commission will serve as the Stakeholder Committee and a Technical Advisory Committee will be established.
